Context: At the IBSA Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed that UNSC reform is now an urgent necessity, not a mere option.

    • Proposed institutionalising NSA-level IBSA meetings to boost trilateral security collaboration.
    • Stressed zero tolerance for terrorism and called for ending all “double standards” in global counter-terror efforts.
  • Digital & Technological Cooperation
    • Suggested creating an IBSA Digital Innovation Alliance for sharing digital public infrastructure.
    • Key components include UPI, CoWIN-like health platforms, cybersecurity frameworks, and women-led technology initiatives.
  • Climate & Agriculture
    • Proposed an IBSA Fund for Climate-Resilient Agriculture to expand South-South development cooperation.
    • Appreciated IBSA Fund projects in 40+ countries across education, health, solar energy, and women’s empowerment.
  • AI Governance
    • Invited leaders to the AI Impact Summit in India next year.
    • Highlighted IBSA’s capability to shape safe, responsible, human-centric AI norms.
  • Broader Cooperation Areas
    • Identified opportunities in millets, natural farming, disaster resilience, green energy, traditional medicine, and health security.
