- The government has approved funding for the Revamped Scheme for Administrative Reforms under the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG).
Key Features of the Scheme
- Ministry: Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions.
- Implementation Period: 2024-25 and 2025-26 (part of the 15th Finance Commission Cycle).
Two Verticals:
Comprehensive System for Redressal of Public Grievances
- Enhancing Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) through AI-assisted redressal.
- Integrating all grievance portals to create a single interface for citizen complaints.
- Capacity building of grievance officers for improved response efficiency.
Administrative Reforms
- Focus on international collaboration, National e-Governance Awards, and streamlining administrative processes.
Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS)
- Launched in 2007 as an online portal for citizens to file grievances against public authorities.
- Linked with all government ministries/departments and states.
- Not applicable for RTI-related matters, court cases, or religious issues.
- 2022 Reforms: Included 10-step improvements to make grievance redressal more efficient.
Significance of Reforms
- Promotes digital governance, reduces bureaucratic inefficiencies, and enhances citizen participation.
- Reduces duplication of grievance portals, creating a unified public grievance redressal system.
