Nanomedicine and India’s Growing Ecosystem
News Context
- The World Congress on Nanomedicine 2026 was held in New Delhi.
- The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) is supporting 210 nanomedicine projects with ₹174 crore in funding.
- India is also developing technologies like oral insulin nanoparticles and nanobots for breast cancer treatment.
What is Nanomedicine — Key Facts for Prelims
- Application of nanotechnology in medicine/healthcare, working at the nanoscale (~10⁻⁹ metre).
- Core idea: precision medicine — tailored to genetic profile, lifestyle, diet and environmental exposure, rather than one-size-fits-all.

News Context
- The National Conference on Agriculture for Rabi Campaign 2026 will be held 28–29 September 2026 in New Delhi.
- Aims to improve Centre-State coordination and prepare for the upcoming Rabi season.

India’s First LNG-Powered Train and Railway Modernisation
News Context
- Union Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off India’s first LNG-powered train from Sabarmati Railway Station, Ahmedabad, and inaugurated a WAG-12 Maintenance Shed.
- Aim: reduce diesel consumption and emissions.
