- Henderson Brooks–Bhagat Report (1963) This is a classified report commissioned by the Indian Army to analyse the causes of India’s defeat in the 1962 Sino-Indian War. It was prepared by Lieutenant General Henderson Brooks and Brigadier P.S. Bhagat. The report examined the military, strategic, and intelligence failures that led to India’s humiliation during the Chinese aggression. The Government of India has kept this report classified till date, though parts of it were leaked by journalist Neville Maxwell in 2014. It pertains specifically to the Sino-Indian engagement of 1962.
- Arun Nehru Report: Arun Nehru, a senior Congress leader and former Minister of State for Internal Security, headed a committee that examined the reforms needed in the management and organisation of the Indian armed forces. The report focused on civil-military relations, command structures, and modernisation of defence management.
