‘Guardian of the Blue Horizon’: PM Modi’s Award: PIB Notes

- PM Narendra Modi was conferred with the Presidential Distinction “Guardian of the Blue Horizon” by Seychelles President Dr. Patrick Herminie.
- This is the first time this distinguished honour has been bestowed.
- The honour was conferred for PM Modi’s green leadership and commitment to Blue Economy, climate action, sustainable ocean resource management, and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
About the Honour
- It acknowledges PM Modi’s commitment to a greener planet through initiatives including the International Solar Alliance, Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, and International Big Cat Alliance.
Samagra Shishu Bal Swasthya Karyakram (SSBSK): PIB Notes

- Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda launched SSBSK during the 16th CCHFW Conference at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
About SSBSK
- It is a unified national programme consolidating Home-Based Newborn Care (HBNC) and Home-Based Care for Young Child (HBYC).
- It ensures continuity of care from birth to 36 months of age.
- It carries forward the vision of “पहले तीन साल सम्पूर्ण देखभाल” (comprehensive care for the first three years).
Key Features
- For the first time, a risk-stratified approach is introduced for “At-risk” newborns and children.
- “At-risk” newborns receive up to nine home visits during the first 42 days.
- “At-risk” children receive up to eight home visits up to 36 months of age.
- Joint home visits by ASHAs, ANMs, CHOs, and Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) will be conducted.
- Well-Baby Sessions will be held at every Village Health, Sanitation and Nutrition Day (VHSND).
- A monthly Shishu Shivir will be held at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs.
- Post-partum maternal mental health screening is introduced as a structured component.
- Nurturing care for Early Childhood Development (ECD) will be integrated across all home visits.
Digital Integration
- SSBSK will leverage Decision-Support Systems (DSS) and child tracking applications.
- It will align with JANANI Portal, U-WIN Portal, MPCDSR Portal, RBSK 2.0 Portal, and POSHAN Tracker.
- Services will be linked through ABHA and Baal-ABHA IDs.

- The conference focused on the entire rural development ecosystem under the Viksit Bharat vision.
Key Rural Development Schemes Discussed
- VB-GRAM-G (Viksit Bharat: Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission Gramin) replaces MGNREGA, increasing work days from 100 to 125.
- PMAY-G (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin) ensures rural housing for eligible beneficiaries.
- PMGSY (Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana) provides a strong rural road network.
- NRLM (National Rural Livelihoods Mission) promotes livelihoods and rural entrepreneurship.
- NSAP (National Social Assistance Programme) covers old age, widow, and disability pensions.
Key Achievements Highlighted
- Nearly 8 lakh kilometres of roads have been built in the last 12 years.
- 3 crore pucca houses have been prepared under PMAY-G.
- 3 crore Lakhpati Didis have been created across rural India.
- 10 crore rural women have been linked to Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
- Target is to take Lakhpati Didis to 6 crore under PM Modi’s guidance.
