Correct Answer: (D) — Three Months

POSH Act, 2013 — Complaint Mechanism

Under Section 9 of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, an aggrieved woman must file a written complaint to the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) or Local Complaints Committee (LCC) within three months from the date of the incident. In case of a series of incidents, the three-month period is counted from the date of the last incident.

Extension Provision

The ICC or LCC has the power to extend the time limit by another three months if it is satisfied that circumstances prevented the woman from filing the complaint within the original period. This provision recognizes that victims may face social, psychological, or institutional barriers in coming forward immediately.
